Holmes is Building Green with ENERGY STAR®

Looking to "go green"? We're way ahead of you. At Holmes Homes, we've been building green for many years…and for a lot of really smart reasons. Homes built to the ENERGY STAR® standard are just more comfortable. You get better indoor air quality and that's healthier for you in the long-term.

The ENERGY STAR® program has a proven track record and continues to demonstrate that our homeowners will save more money on their annual utility bills. The energy saving features we build into our homes will typically make them 20-30% more efficient than standard homes.

As an ENERGY STAR® Builder Partner since 2004, Holmes Homes has qualified more homes in the Salt Lake area than any other builder. That kind of commitment to the qualities and principles of energy efficiency will continue to pay big dividends for our homeowners.

What types of Features are included in ENERGY STAR® qualified Homes?

An Efficient Home Envelope: Creates a comprehensive air barrier through using high-performance windows and properly installed wall, floor, and attic insulation

More Efficient Air Distribution: We minimize the air leakage where ducts are installed. And we also insulate them to keep them working as efficiently as possible.

High-efficiency Equipment: The industry has come a long way and we only use highly efficient heating, cooling and water heating options that deliver cost-savings to our customers.

More Efficient Lighting: Our lighting fixtures earn the ENERGY STAR® rating.

Efficient Appliances: Keep the savings coming with qualified appliance packages that carry the Energy Star® seal. That helps you save money in the long-term and makes us all more responsible stewards of the environment.

We continue to look for cost-effective, comfort-building options and materials that not only are more sustainable for the long-term but deliver the best value to our homeowners.

100% ENERGY STAR® Builder

ENERGY STAR® has show that a typical ENERGY STAR® home, when compared with a typical standard home uses substantially less energy for the basic functions of a home. That would include heating, cooling and water heating. That can mean $200-$400 in annual savings. Now, if you live in your home for an average 7 to 8 years, well you can see how that adds up.

Energy Savings of our Daybreak Customers

In fact, we were doing a little math and figured that of all our homes we have constructed, and figuring out the the years they would be used, well it was staggering to see that our owners will save over $8,500,000. That's a pretty significant impact for our owners and for the planet.
